Clinical Screening Dentist

Registered Dental Assistant

We are looking for a team-oriented Registered Dental Assistant to join our fast-paced, efficient, and friendly office. The right candidate will ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. We are looking for someone who is well-organized and has great attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients into the dental office
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

Proven experience as dental assistant:

  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Registered Dental Assistant license is required
  • CPR license is required
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
  • Experience preferred but willing to train the right individual

We are a busy office looking for an additional RDA to help support our clinical staff. The ideal candidate would be a team player that enjoys seeing patients smile and the office flourish in a positive atmosphere. Our office hours are Monday-Thursday 8 AM-5PM.

Compensation is dependent upon experience and is negotiable and competitive.

Due to the nature of the position, we do also require proficiency in Spanish.

Duties:

Manage high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner.

Follow communication “scripts” when handling different topics.

Identify patients needs, clarify information, research every issue and provide solutions and/or alternatives.

Seize opportunities to upsell services when they arise.

Build sustainable relationships and engage customers by taking the extra mile.

Keep records of all conversations in our call center database in a comprehensible way.

Frequently attend educational seminars to improve knowledge and performance level.

Meet personal/team qualitative and quantitative targets.

Add value to the patient experience by helping to create a positive experience at each visit.

Responsible for monitoring and managing patient wait times and patient flow, while communicating with management to ensure a positive patient experience at each visit.

Work independently and efficiently to maintain a clean and organized reception area space.

Always work to improve best practices and acquire feedback from patients and communicate to management needs.

Clean and organize reception area and office space as needed or as directed by management.

Communicate with patients and families as a coordinator to the back office or clinic area.

Active involvement in patient or reception area needs and clinic area.

Consistently document and enter notes as required for all patient communication including scheduling or general patient phone calls.

Educate patients on oral hygiene and caring for their braces if needed.

Answer phones and connect patients to correct departments cordially and efficiently.

Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining commitment to customer service.
